24.09.03 . . . Activities are now peaking in Dubai – and the av-solutions are performing very well
Our team in Dubai are working hard to make sure that the audio-visual equipment for the many meetings are running smoothly – and they will just have to get used to the fact that everybody is praising them for their efforts in the UAE.
Many different kinds of meetings, seminars have been held the last few days - and last but certainly not least the final conference with 6000 guests.
Officially it is now being said, that the performance of the audiovisual team and the equipment in Dubai is the best they have ever seen during a World Bank meeting.

| Our digital DIS conference system, DCS 6000 is performing perfectly. This is true for both the digital microphones as well as the many interpretation systems that are in use in Dubai. Despite of the hectic working conditions with repeatedly set-up and dismantling, the systems are very stable and the sound is perfect. |
|
The interpreters can see the speakers on the tft-monitors - in total they interpret in 9 languages - all digital |

Dubai International Conference Centre is the center of the activities. Helicopters are landing on the roof and numerous “men in black” are making sure, that nobody is in places they are not allowed to be. Regular drills are being held where “ bad guys” attack the conference hall and every time they are overtaken by the massive security-force. These “instructed” interruptions seem to be the only disturbers of the meetings in Dubai.

The meetings in have been held acording to the plan - and in a secure way. Here they are making a lunch meeting ready |

That marks the opening of a number of meetings from now until September 24. In total there will be held more than 240 meetings in this period. Delegations from the 184 member countries are also arriving Dubai. That means the number of inhabitants in Dubai will increase with 27.500 persons during the period of the Meetings. As a landmark of the conference the city has raised a 25 metres high monument in front of the Dubai World Trade Centre. Flags and names of all the countries taking part are presented on the landmark, which has been built by steel and glass. At the top of the monument a globe - with the UAE accentuated, is rotating. The monument is illuminated from the inside and appears as an impressive welcome to the many guests of the city.
