the 42nd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM) / Post Ministerial Conferences (PMC) and the 16th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) 
 
 


 



Despite being held in the midst of cloudy rainy season of Phuket Island, Thailand, the 14thAMM/PMC 16th ARF had been warm and fruitful throughout the week. The event took place on 16-23th of July, 2009, at the Sheraton Grande Laguna Beach Resort, and was attended by 10 ASEAN countries, 9 dialogue partners and 1 organization (U.S.A., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Republic of Korea, Russia, India and the European Union) and in addition, 7 countries from the Asia-Pacific (Papua New Guinea, Mongolia, DPRK, Pakistan, Timor-Leste, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka).
BICS2000, The DIS partner in Thailand played again a crucial role.
In the hand of all ASEAN Ministers, including Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State, US, 400 sets of DIS digital receivers were used during many sessions to interpret 8 languages; Lao, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean (ROK), Korean (DPRK), Mongolian, Japanese, and Russian. As well as more than 180 Conference Microphones used in almost every meeting and luncheon talk.
In addition, BICS2000 had also provided all the best audio system together with cameras, and most importantly, their 30 well-trained technicians.
42nd AMM/PMC 16th ARF is again DIS and BICS2000 accomplishment. The long journal of the event had adjourned here in Phuket. We will look forward to the next chapter of the ASEAN meetings which are coming very soon.
