DIS and 122nd IPU Assembly 2010 Bangkok 
 
 


 

Despite growing political unrest in the Thai capital approximately 2,400 IPU (Inter – Parliamentary Union) delegates from more than a 140 countries met in Bangkok from March 27 – April 1 to attend the 122nd IPU Assembly and Related Meetings at the Centara Grand Hotel and Bangkok Convention Centre. This year’s theme appropriately was “Parliament at the Heart of Political Reconciliation and Good Governance”.

The local host, the Thai National Assembly, chose DIS and DIS local rental partner, BICS2000, as their preferred conference and A/V supplier. DIS Rental project manager Nalle Vikstroem states *Within 5 days more than 4 tons of equipment was shipped from Copenhagen to Bangkok and installed to be ready for this grand event.

The two companies provided more than 2400 Digital infrared receivers, 700 digital conferencing units, 33 Interpreter’s Booths for 11 languages in 6 parallel sessions plus additional audio and visual systems.  Furthermore, the teamwork between BICS2000 DIS worked flawlessly, having BICS local crew run most of the meetings and the DIS team supervising, supporting and making sure the client and the interpreters got what they wanted*
