1973-1980 The company was founded on 1 July 1973 under the name of Soundwell A/S by four engineering students. Sound-well A/S was established at DTU in Lyngby. A number of sound installations were carried out in the first few years of the company, followed closely afterwards by audiovisual installations.
After a number of successful installations, at A.P. Møller and elsewhere, there was of course a growing demand for renting corresponding equipment on the basis of short-term arrangements. When the company’s services were expanded from pure sound products to include also audiovisual installations, its name was changed to INFORMATIONSTEKNIK A/S.
Due to a shortage of space Informationsteknik A/S moved to Nørregade 30, and later on during this period, to Amaliegade 45 in Copenhagen. At the end of the period Informationsteknik had 15 employees.

1981-1985 There was a growing need to be able to operate the diversity of equipment centrally as the company grew in size and supplied increasing quantities of more complicated AV installations. Informationsteknik therefore developed its own AV control system, among other things.
For the first time in Denmark this enabled the user to start an AV show at the press of a button, for example he could control how the light was dimmed, the blackout reduced, the sound was turned up or down and the picture appeared on the screen.
At the end of the period Informationsteknik had 20 employees.

1986-1990 Informationsteknik A/S moved to Bispevej 4, Copenhagen N to obtain more space for a larger rental store, production warehouse and to accommodate a growing number of employees. The company got into financial difficulties because of the comparatively fast growth, and Informationsteknik A/S therefore had to change owners. The company was now owned by one Danish shareholder, and the company name was changed to Ny Informationsteknik A/S.
In 1989 Ny Informationsteknik A/S merged with DIS, Danish Interpretation Systems A/S – a company that produced and rented advanced conference interpretation equipment. The merger necessitated yet another move to Bispevej 25.
As a result of the merger the company changed its name to Informationsteknik Scandinavia A/S, and the DIS products were now incorporated as a trademark in the company.
Informationsteknik Scandinavia AS in Oslo, Norway, and Informationsteknik Scandinavia AB in Stockholm, Sweden, were established with the prime objective of running the business of renting DIS conference and interpretation products.
At the end of the period the company employed around 40 people.

1991-1995 During this period Informationsteknik Scandinavia A/S developed a full-scale service and product concept, which included all-in contracts for audiovisual and conference solutions for both permanent and temporary requirements.
One result of this was the supply of a turnkey project for the Kuwaiti parliament that included simultaneous interpretation and conference equipment, voting systems, video broadcast suites, large screen projection, studio camera solutions, etc.
The Aarhus division was founded as a leasing and service division for the head office. At the end of the period Informationsteknik employed 55 people. |

2000-2004 Informationsteknik continues expanding. At the beginning of 2001 it acquired Technisound, Malmö – in order to strengthen Danish/Swedish cooperation, and the year after we opened a DIS sales office in Dubai.
The facilities in Thailand were outgrown, so the office was moved to larger premises. |
