The sky above Tivoli is changed every night in the season, when the "Tivoli Illuminations" is turned on. Sound, light, laser, fire, smoke and water – Tivoli Illuminations is a true bombardment of senses inspired by the change of the seasons – and there is nothing like it in all Scandinavia.
"Tivoli Illuminations" means a lot of new technology installed in and around the Tivoli Lake. 13 water fountains and 2 fire elements have been placed into the Lake. Along the bank 12 loud speakers and 16 smoke machines have been strategically placed together with moving-lights. These spotlights change colours and size of the cones while moving up and down – and in the little newly built boatshed by the old “Færgekro” is the heart of the show: the computer and the largest full colour laser machine being found on the world market.
It has been a great task for the planners to calculate the technical details, as they work with unpredictable elements such as water, wind and the weather in general. The modern equipment is able to size up the weather in order for the smoke, water and fire always to look the same.
Every night the attendants of Tivoli shall simply push one button – and the show is on.
Also "Minen" in Tivoli has gone through some major changes. From being the well-known "Baljebane", new standards for entertainment have been set with light, water and special effects.
