TRADITION, INFORMATION AND INNOVATION Old and new technologies meet in a historical setting Already when entering the centre the visitor experiences old and new technology in an exciting mix. In the flicker of glow lamps both the present and the past marketing of the beers is shown. Large displays show the modern-day commercials, which are often associated with big sport events. On the computer touch-screens the visitors are able to watch an extract of Carlsberg’s and Tuborg’s advertisements from the middle of the last century up to today’s advertising campaign. Exciting guided tour In the visitor centre you can see informative signs about beer brewery from the Stone Age up to modern time. On six large displays you can learn about brewery and bottle distribution in different countries, and a counter tells you how much beer has been brewed in total around the world. The visitors are guided through big and small rooms – all showing the different brewing processes in authentic surroundings. At the end of the tour the visitors enter a large showroom, where a heavy surround sound system in a combination of film projection on the walls and a running water screen makes it a fantastic multi media experience. The guided tour ends in the new ”Jacobsen Bar”, and of course, here you can enjoy free samples from the beer assortment. At the same time as you enjoy the beer, you can overview the ”Husbryggeriet Jacobsen” through the large landscape windows. Technology for illumination, information and to emphasize Informationsteknik’s task was to update and enhance the exhibit by using new technology. In this innovative solution audio-, light-, display-, water- and scent technologies are all combined to emphasize the experience with the audience. The techniques of illumination are not only used for lighting up the dark settings but also as at the theatres to emphasize and to create illusions such as fire and water. The impression is enhanced by special composed sound effects to make the experience even bigger. Modern touch screens are placed around the house to give even more information about past and present beer brewery. In close cooperation with the customer The upgrade of the Visitor centre has been prepared in a close dialog with Carlsberg. With Carlsberg’s wishes, demands and expectations as a starting point Informationsteknik made a project plan for the entire solution. It has been very important when working on such a large project that we could draw on our huge knowledge and experience from similar projects. All things considered it has resulted in a creative solution giving the visitors, regardless of age an enduring experience of a modern Visitor Centre with a historical angle.
